Week 8 Report:

I wrote and submitted 3 scifaiku to Scifaikuest and had all three accepted "Ultimate Weapon" (to be published in the print version of the Nov 2011 magazine), "Infotech" and "Pioneers" (both to be published in the On-line version of the magazine).

I wrote 2 twitter fiction pieces which I submitted to Trapeze. "Full Moon" has been accepted for publication on 11 June 2011. I have not yet heard back on "Settlers"

Finally, I wrote and submitted a twitter fiction to Nanoism. I am now awaiting a response on "Through the glass"

Week 7 Report:

I wrote and submitted a 700 word flash fiction "A Flaming Brand" to the webzine Einstein's Pocket Watch.

I had "Apocalypse" accepted by Scaifaikuest. This is a very symbolic moment for me. This is the first time I have sold a piece of work, for real, actual money. OK, it's only $1, but according to Chambers Dictionary - this makes me a professional writer! (I don't think I'll give up the day job just yet!)

Week 6 Report:

Submitted a scifaiku ("Apocalypse" to scifaikuest
Submitted an edited version of my short story "Another Small Step" to Asimov's (hey if it's not good enough for Strange Horizons, why not just move up the pecking order?!) This was written last year, so doesn't really count towards wri1sub1, but I thought you'd like to know I've gone crazy!

Week 5 Report:

Submitted a "Flowing Fonts" story to Scribble and Edit
Submitted a poem "Consider the Moon" to FirstWriter.com magazine (Issue 19)

Week 4 Report:

"The Bitter End" for ePocalypse was rejected by Pill Hill Press.
Submitted another entry to the Reader's Digest short story competition

Week 3 Report:

Finished and submitted the short story "The Bitter End" for ePocalypse (about 8500 words) to Pill Hill Press. This was a collaborative effort with Simon Kewin,
My Haiku "Wormhole" was accepted for publication on 19th March by Trapeze

Week 2 Report:

Having spent my writerly resources on nearly finishing the draft of a short story for ePocalypse (about 8000 words) with Simon Kewin, I just scraped the Wri1Sub1 requirements with a Science fiction Haiku "wormhole" submitted to Pedestal on-line magazine.

Week 1 Report:

Eased into the new schedule gently with a 100 word entry into the Readers Digest short story competition. (Entries close 31st January). Number of entries is unlimited.

  4. Awesome work. If I had the time to do this I really would. I'm writing, but its in nonfiction and its difficult to find markets for that. Your doing great so keep chugging along. I have submission places on my side bar at my blog if you need a couple more to try out.
