Friday Book Blurb - The Wrath of Storms

Photobucket

The lovely Lisa at Writing in the Buff hosts Book Blurb Friday. Each week Lisa posts a pretend book cover to fire our imaginations. Our task is to write the book blurb for the back cover in 150 words or less.

The Wrath of Storms

“Give her a chance, mother!”
“She is mortal, you are forbidden to see her again.”
“What are you going to do, rain at me?”

Now his words are coming back to haunt Kairos.
Ever since he stormed out of Olympus, his earthly home has been racked by torrential rain, and the mayhem is spreading. Should he tell his young love, Cassandra, that his mother is really Iris, the Goddess of Rain?

But his mother’s wrath is the least of his worries. Under cover of the chaos, someone is waking the enemies of the Gods. Kai must find a way to stop them before the Gigantes walk the earth again, but he is fast losing his immortal powers. Kai faces a desperate choice: return to immortality, save humanity, or embrace love as a human. But Cassandra has a few surprises of her own and Kai is soon running to keep up...

I managed to borrow a computer with a mouse - so at least I could fix my post!!

  1. I know what you mean, I hate a computer without a mouse. Thank goodness I have a cordless mouse with a USB connection for my little netbook, which we use when traveling.
Okay, so your hero was traveling, too, met The Wrath of Mom, and is soon to face surprises from his sweetie...
Good book blurb, Dom. Leaves book-buyers wanting to know what happens next. I like it.

  3. Thanks K and OK!

A question for all of you ... I couldn't find a way of timing the blurb to make room for something to make it clear that this is bringing the Greek Gods into the present day. Do you think the picture says all that needs to be said?

  5. You do sci-fi so well Dominic, and I love the premise for this book. What a great tale this would be-full of twists and turns from the sound of things!

  6. Wow, Dom, you packed a lot of info an action into your 150 words! What a great story. I sure hope that Iris calms down before an ark is necessary. I also hope that true love will prevail, but wonder what Cassandra has up her sleeve.

Thanks so much for stopping by, and I hope that you have a great weekend,

  8. No matter what Cassandra does, who will believe her?! She's doomed, and everyone will suffer.
Good to see you again, Dom.

  9. Love this one, Dominic...a good fantasy novel is one of life's great treats! One can only take so much reality, after all...LOL!

  10. Anything dealing with the Greek Gods has my attention, and I mean that sincerely. I find the mythology fascinating (one of my favorite books ever is "Whom the Gods Would Destroy" by Richard Powell which brings the Trojan War to life.) Anyway, great blurb! I'd love to see how your protagonist ultimately resolves his dilemma, and I do hope Cassandra fares better in your story than in Greek myths.

  11. Another intriguing plot. I wasn't keen initially but as I read on I was hooked.

All these storylines will keep you busy for years. Unless of course you are like Barbara Cartland and can write several in one year! :O)
