Microfiction Monday 29 Nov 2010

Welcome to another round of Microfiction Monday courtesy of Susan at Stony River. Each week Susan posts a new picture and invites us to write a story in 140 characters or less.

Today's picture:

Doris sighed as the two men argued. It looked like the old man hadn't given them a bum steer after all. He'd given them two!

I couldn't resist a second one:

Dr Suess wasn't entirely happy with the early draft of "The Cat as a Hat".

I look forward to reading all the other entries!

  1. Hannalie couldn't help but feel jaded as she was being sold off for a hurd of cattle to a husband who would obviously prefered the intimate company of her father.

I LOVED your second one. Made me spit lemonade.

  2. I like it. My thoughts went a different direction initially. The Dr. Seuss one was great.

  3. Two gentlemen conversing, or are they arguing, as can't tell!

The romans were a great worry back then, and respected the women, and did not want to soil their minds with prosession. But at the right time, a thousand were signed up, but he failed to mate it with a passion!

ANK U. SEE. Dolphins live in the sea, and communicate in one direction, put me in thee with an weak ant arial. Job eventually done.

    Thank YOU. LOVE LOVE. HIGH.

  4. Love the Dr. Seuss one! We live near Medicine Hat, Alberta. While we were house-hunting we lived in an apartment in "The Hat" as the locals call it, so our old cat... well, you know...
Recently, when I was away, my husband broke my "Cat in the Hat" coffee mug, and hasn't replaced it.
    Sigh.
Said husband will definitely prefer your "bum steer" micro. He is an inveterate punster.

  20. Loved the pun! But poor Doris! Alas, she's probably down for Cow Clean-up Detail, too! Don't get me wrong, who doesn't like pie? I'm just saying not the kind Deedee's going to have to deal with! (<--EW! Did I really just say that?!) LOL!
