SNOW!

The view from my front door The road outside my house
My front garden My back garden
Looking at the ... ... neighbours!

Ok I know that this nothing if you live in the snow belt south of Michigan, but for the UK this is serious stuff! :D

How is the weather where you are?

  1. The wonderful thing about Colorado is, that when it snows, and we can get snowed in, it melts within a week. (Except the mountains) Denver is on the front range of the mountains. I lived in Minnesota for awhile and attended college there. Snow for six months and in Dec - March, windshield below 50 many times.

Right now, no snow in Denver. Very unusual, lots in the mountains, sunny, no coat needed yesterday, but with clouds the weather can drop pretty fast. It's just after 6 a.m. right now and I haven't seen the weather report.

    Stay warm and safe.

  3. Hi Nancy, Hi Christine

Just walked down to the shops. Its not too cold 28F or so. Hot bag of chips from the fish and chip shop was just the ticket!

  5. It's FREEZING right now in San Diego: under 60 (F) in the mornings lately. =) My wife and I are going to Michigan this Christmas, and we're hoping for SNOW.

  6. That's a lot of snow! It isn't like that around here that often. There's snow outside right now--it's not much, but it did snow with the big, wet flakes yesterday so that it looked like we were inside a snowglobe. :)

  7. Beautiful snow pics!!! OH I love snow at this time - so chrismassy! Herts is just about under a cm of snow! LOL! And London (where I work) is slushy but snow drifts come and go!

    Take care

  8. SO much snow! It wasn't that bad last week here but it definitely messed up my getting to school schedule. It's going to be a bad year (apparently). I am not really excited.

  9. Love the pics
Everywhere seemed to have snow here in UK except us, until last night when it fell. Not too deep, but deep enough. :O)

  10. That is serious stuff! The UK doesn't look like it's going to have an easy winter.

  12. I live in Florida, so just looking at that makes me shiver. Stay warm.

  13. Here on the Prairies of Canada, three-foot snowdrifts are a given. But my brother was in Europe for his honeymoon in January, and said that just a skiff of snow shut everything down there. Not too many vehicles with snow tires, I'm assuming;0)
Hope you don't have to suffer too long!

  14. I love snow...as long as I can come indoors to a warm fire and hot cocoa when I'm tired of it! I live in the Atlanta, Georgia area and more than a few inches of snow is rare here, and when it does fall it doesn't last. The flip side to that is that occasionally we do get hit hard, and then everything shuts down. Atlanta doesn't know what to do with a heavy snowfall.

  15. I heard you guys had a lot of snow there. Wow!

Fortunately we are still snow-free. But I know it won't last.

  16. There has been none of the nasty white stuff around here, so (and this is going to sound mean) please keep it there with you... LOL!

  17. I loved your snowy pictures.
It's not the "deep and crisp and even" we have to worry about here, the ice underneath our light dusting is lethal.

  18. I'm in Lancashire and we certainly haven't had it half as bad as Yorkshire and you down south - make a change ;)

Thankfully I'm retired so don't have to go out in it unless I really, really have or want to. :)

  19. Hi Dominic- I'm waiting for the first big snowfall here in Southwestern France. We'll see. I hear it's a comin'

  20. That is a LOT of snow! Do you have a snow shovel? I read where a lot of people don't even own such a thing in the UK. You took some very nice pictures but I'm getting cold looking at them!

  21. No snow shovel or snow chains. In fact absolutely no snow preparation whatsoever! I do have a pair of wellies!

And welcome to you Samantha and Akelamalu - thanks for following!

  23. What fun it is to see that much snow when you're not used to it. A novelty! Is it the kind you can pack to build a snow man or have a snow ball fight, or is it too light and fluffy?

    Enjoy your weekend!

PS, I'll include you in my drawing if you'd like - I don't mind shipping to the UK. :)

  25. Ah. Snow. Had it right before Thanksgiving out here in the land of rain that is otherwise known as Washington State.

The picks are far better (for me) than being in it.

Have you checked out my blogfest happening dec. 12-18th, if no go now. It's for query letters and there's a prize.

  27. My kids are anxiously awaiting snow here in NY. Could you send some our way? LOL. (Don't tell my husband that I said that!)

  28. How's the weather where I live? Well, I came from 20-30 degrees Celsius (in Mexico) to minus 10 degrees below zero (in Canada). So, I'm freezing.

I haven't seen snow in close to two years so that's nice.

  29. Hi Dom I did reply to your comments about my blogfest, but don't have an email address for you to reply and as you've asked again I thought I'd post my answer here: I'm not surewhere the famous person idea srang from. All it says is:
Describe *a person's* living space in no more than 500 words so that we can vividly imagine the absent person. Then guess from the descriptions posted who lives in a room like this? i.e. Write a description of a room and then others may respond by describing the TYPE of person who might live there.

    * LINKEY will remain open until next Saturday 11th December. I really hope you and others can join in. I think it would be FUN! thanks :O)

  31. 'tis a lovely snowfall, to be sure! We're getting our first taste of snow here in Ohio this week. I prefer the warmer months but there is something simply magical about a clean, pure snowfall.
